Angie Williamson


Angie Ophelia Case Williamson age 87 of Vienna died June 9, 2004, at 11 PM at Parkway Manor in Marion, Illinois, of natural causes after a long illness.

She was born December 28, 1916, in Mt. View, Arkansas, to Charles Rupert Case and Myrtle Mabry Case. Angie was the oldest of three children. One brother preceded her, Charles Rupert Case, Jr., of Eufaula, Alabama.

 She has one surviving brother, Robert Ridgeway Case of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, a sister-in-law Genevieve Case of Eufaula, Alabama, and a sister-in-law Eileen Williamson of Mt. View, Arkansas.

 Angie married Benjamin Jackson “Jack” Williamson in 1944 in Corning, Arkansas. Jack died on March 12, 1986. Angie is survived by one son Circuit Judge James Robert “Jim” Williamson, one granddaughter Sarah Mallory Williamson, and a daughter-in-law Melissa Duncan Williamson, all of Vienna, Illinois. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

 Chuck Case of Horseshoe Bend, Kentucky, Jane Case Berault, of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, Cathy Case Rodweller, of Silver Springs, Maryland and Robert Ridgeway Case, Jr. of Harlingen, Texas who preceded her in death.

 Angie has several relatives in Arkansas, including, an aunt Frances Mabry Brown, of Mt. View, Arkansas.


Angie attended Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas, and graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. Prior to her marriage, she taught elementary school in East Prairie, Missouri, and Dowell, Illinois. During her lifetime, she and her husband Jack lived in Hope, Arkansas and Lewisville, Arkansas, where Jack practiced law. They moved to Vienna, Illinois in 1953, where Jack continued his law practice, and Angie taught elementary school at Grantsburg and Vienna Grade Schools in Johnson County. She taught for over 30 years. She was a member of the Women’s Methodist Society, the Women’s Club, and the Daniel Chapman chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

 Angie was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church. Her church, family, teaching, love of reading, canvas painting and love of animals fulfilled her long and happy life.


Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon, June 14, 2004, at 1 PM at the United Methodist Church in Vienna, Illinois. Rev. Ed. Hoke will officiate. Burial will be in the Vienna Fraternal Cemetery. Friends may call after 5 PM Sunday at the Bailey Funeral Home.
