Arlen M. Campbell
Arlen M. Campbell, son of George Campbell & Hattie (LANCASTER) Campbell, was born November 21, 1911 in Kewanne, MO. He departed this life, Wednesday morning, April 7, 2004 at 5:10 AM at Medco of Paducah, KY. At the time of his passing, Arlen had attained the age of 92 years, 4 months, & 16 days. Arlen was united in married to Louise (CRUSE) on August 18, 1931 in Benton, MO. She preceded him in death on June 28, 1982. Arlen was later united in marriage to Ruth (nee SLOAN) Beggs on September 2, 1982 in Brookport, IL. She survives. Other Survivors include; a Son - Donald Campbell & his wife Dee of Spring Hill, TN; 2 Daughters - Mary Craig & her husband Charles of Vienna, IL &Virginia Jones & her husband Bob of Metropolis, IL; A Stepdaughter - Della Wyatt & her husband Bobby of Paducah, KY; A Stepson - Melvin D. Beggs of Kankakee, IL; 15 Grandchildren; Several Great Grandchildren; Several Great-Great-Grandchildren; Several Nieces & Nephews. In addition to his Parents & first wife, Arlen was preceded in death by; a Daughter - Kathleen Jones; a Stepdaughter - July Thompson; a Step Daughter-in-law - Barbara Beggs; 1 Grandson; 5 Brothers - Roy, Chester, Melvin, Ovie, & Raymond Campbell; 3 Sisters - Pearl hazel, Esther Nishan, & Gladys Abernathy. Arlen was a retired Farmer. He had also been a Church of Christ preacher, having been affiliated with the Church of Christ since 1913. He was a member of the Central Church of Christ in Paducah, KY. Arlen enjoyed fishing & hunting. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Baseball fan. Arlen leaves his family and friends to cherish his memory. Funeral services will be held Friday morning, April 9, 2004 at 11 AM at the bailey Funeral Home in Vienna, IL. Brother Jim Faughn, assisted by Mr. Campbell's son Brother Donald Campbell, will officiate. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, near Buncombe, IL. Committal service conducted by Brother Bill Brandstatter. Friends may call from 5 PM - 8 PM Thursday at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
