Arminta Johnson

Arminta “Shorty” Stevens Johnson, daughter of Arna Parker & Emma
(Dunn) Parker, was born April 22, 1918 in Anna, Illinois. She departed
this life Friday evening, October 8, 2004 at 6:05 PM in Anna, Illinois.
At the time of her passing, Arminta had attained the age of 86 years, 5
months & 16 days.
Survivors include: 2 Sons – Jim & Darlene Stevens of Buncombe, IL
& Bill Stevens of Vienna, IL; 1 Daughter – Elly & Carlos
Kerley of Vienna, IL; 6 Grandchildren – Marty & Debbie Stevens,
Jamie & Gerri Stevens, Jennifer & Kelly Miller, Charley &
Jay Stevens, Junior Kerley & Steve Kerley; 6 Great Grandchildren –
Tyler Stevens, Tiffany Stevens, Kayli Stevens, Clay Stevens, Skylynn
Stevens, & Caitlin Kerley; 1 Brother – Arnold Parker of Anna, IL;
3 Sisters – Moneada Karraker of Anna, IL, Irene Lingle of Anna, IL
& Velma & Walter Menees of Anna, IL; Several Nieces &
Nephews.
In addition to her Parents, Arminta was preceded in death by: 2
Granddaughters – Debra Lee Stevens & Darla Kay Stevens; 1 Great
Grandson – Cody Wayne Kerley; 1 Sister – Dolly Plott; 2 Brothers –
Buster Parker & Jewel Parker; 1 Niece – Patti Poffenberger.
Arminta was employed at the Anna State Hospital
as a Psychiatric Aide prior to her retirement in 1983. She had been an
active member of the former Cypress Chapter #886 Order of the Eastern
Star. Arminta was a member of the 1st Baptist Church of Anna, IL. She
enjoyed painting, sewing, & loved watching hummingbirds.
Arminta leaves her family & many dear friends to cherish her memory.
Funeral services will be held Monday morning, October 11, 2004 at 11 AM
at the Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna, IL. Rev. Tim Sadler & Rev. Jay
Franklin will officiate. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery,
near Buncombe, IL.
Friends may call after 6 PM Sunday evening at the Bailey Funeral Home.

Lane, Springfield, IL 62707.
