Buck Williams
Buck Williams, age 73, of Route 3, Vienna died Monday, April 6, 1987 at his home. He was born May 20, 1913 in Johnson County, the son of Lewis and Minnie (Webb) Williams. He was first married to Ruby Taylor. On June 1, 1985 he married Patsy Snethen at Los Angeles, California. She survives. Mr. Williams is also survived by four daughters, Rose Mary Hindrick of Springfield, Jane Penrod of Buncombe, Joyce Jones of Lincoln and Helen Williams of Anna; one son, Loren Williams of Elgin; a step-son, William Morris Lowder of Kansas City, MO; a step-daughter, Pamela Leah Lowder of Wheatland, Wyo.; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; a brother, Guy Williams of Washington; a sister, Mae Reid of Chester. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ester Russell and several brothers and sisters. Mr. Williams was a retired Secretary of State Security Guard. He was an ordained Presbyterian minister. He was a member of the New Burnside Masonic Lodge #772 AF and AM. Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 8, 1987 at 1 p.m. at Whitnel Funeral Home. The Rev. Russell Pedigo officiated. Burial was at Woodside Cemetery. Masonic rites were held at 7 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
