Ernie Faulkner

Ernie Faulkner, son of Charles W. Faulkner & Addie (Smithson) Faulkner, was born October 18, 1934 in Jonesboro,
AR. He departed this life Tuesday afternoon, June 29, 2004 at 5:27 PM near his home. At the time of his passing,
Ernie had attained the age of 69 years, 8 months & 11 days.
Ernie was united in marriage to Betty “B.J.” Hickenbottom on October 25, 1957 at the Long Creek Methodist Church
in Decatur, IL. She survives. Other survivors include: a Daughter – Debbie Gardiner & her husband Hayden, of
Marion, IL; 2 Sons – Mark Faulkner & his wife Kathy, of Carterville, IL & Keith Faulkner & Beth Widowski,
of Vienna, IL; 5 Grandchildren – Cory, Mia, Ali Rae, Cameron & Jeffery; 2 Brothers – Charles Faulkner &
his wife Joyce, of Vienna, IL & Cecil Faulkner & his wife Christine, of Vienna, IL; a Sister-In-Law – Margie
Faulkner of Marion, IL; Several Nieces, Nephews, other relatives & many friends.
Ernie was preceded in death by: a Brother – James W. Faulkner.
Ernie was a U.S. Army Veteran. Having served from 1957 – 1959. Ernie retired in November 1999 after serving as
the Golf Pro for 25 years at the Lake of Egypt Golf Course. He had previously been employed by Staley Manufacturing
Co. and later served as a representative for Moorman Manufacturing (a farm supply & services company) in Quincy,
IL for 13 years. Ernie was also a cattle farmer & a member of the Registered Angus Cattle Association.
Ernie had attended the Casey Springs Church, near Vienna, IL. He was an avid golfer, sportsman, & outdoorsman,
enjoying hunting & fishing.
Ernie was devoted to his family & loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Ernie leaves his family & many dear friends to cherish his memory.
Funeral services will be held Friday morning, July 2, 2004 at 10 AM at the Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna, IL. Rev.
David Faulkner will officiate. Burial will be in the Vienna Fraternal Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday evening,
July 1, 2004 at the Bailey Funeral Home after 5 PM.
