Freeda Ford

Freeda Lee Ford, daughter of Cal and Arista Gurley Hester, was
born on May 23, 1905, and departed this life suddenly on the evening of
February 19, 1966. At the time of her death, she was 60 years, 8 months,
and 26 days of age.
On April 06, 1921 she was united in holy matrimony to
Loren Ford, who preceded her in death on May 12, 1964. To this union
eight children were born.
Surviving to mourn the passing of their beloved
mother are three daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Brown of Ozark; Mrs. Wilma
Soper, of Marion and Mrs. Betty Ann Woning of O'Fallon, MO; five sons,
Robbie Ford of Vienna; Ralph Dale and Loren both of Kankakee; Bill of
Anna, and Donald of Elgin. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs.
Myrtle Simpson of Metropolis and Mrs. Gertie Pippins of Vienna; 24
grandchildren, and many other relatives who now mourn the loss of one so
dear to them.
A devoted wife and mother, she cared for her family with kind and
loving hands, doing all that she could to ensure the well being of those
dearest to her. In her effort to lighten the responsibilities of her
husband and children, she gave of herself with little or no concern for
her own personal comfort. During her lifetime she accepted the promise
of God, the Father, for life everlasting and was a member of the
Pentecostal church.
A good, patient, and kind woman, she gathered
unto herself a multitude of life long friends who appreciated her warmth
and friendship as she moved in their circle of comradeship.
The brightest moments of her life time were those spent in the
circle of her family whose joys and sorrows she shared, tucking into her
heart memories that are sacred only to a mother. Even now as this child
of God has gone, protected by the loving arms of God, the Father, to
seek her glorious eternity among the heavenly hosts, she will not
shortly be forgotten in the hearts and minds of those she leaves behind.
Blessed be the name of Freeda Ford
