Gladys Mighell

Martha Gladys Mighell, age 82 of Route 1, Goreville, died Sunday, June 21, 1987, at her home.

She was born June 22, 1904, in Johnson County, the daughter of Samuel M. Matilda Ann (DUNN) Billingsley. On March 29, 1932, she married Hugh Mighell at Creal Springs. He survives.

Mrs. Mighell is also survived by a daughter, Mary M. Asbury of Jonesboro, a son, Robert T. Mighell of Copperas Cove, Texas; a step-daughter, Lodema M. Luporini of Des Plains; seven grandchildren; a brother, R. Kent Billingsley of Buncombe.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Samuel J. Mighell and Barney Neil Mighell; four brothers, Corwin, Vernon, S. Blakely and Joe K. Billingsley.

Mrs. Mighell was a retired teacher. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Funeral Services were held Wednesday, June 24, 1987, at 2 p.m. at Whitnel Funeral Chapel, Goreville. The Rev. Jim Shipley officiated. Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
