Guy
S. Pearce, 60, of Rt. 2 in Buncombe died at 10 a.m. Friday at Doctor’s
Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.
Mr.
Pearce was a maintenance man at Anna State Hospital and belonged to the
Masonic Lodge of Goreville.He attended the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in
Buncombe.
He
was born Nov. 8, 1914 in Buncombe to Frank and Glenna Davis Pearce. He
was married on April 7, 1935 to the former Rhudell Russell.
Survivors include his father, his wife, four daughters, Shirley Jones
and Rose Mary Hook, both of Vienna, Jeanette Zych of Chicago Heights,
and Francis Bullock of Grantsburg; a sister Wilhelma Davis of Anna and
eight grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Mt. Zion Baptist church in
Buncombe, with the Rev. Charles Cooper of the First Baptist Church of
Vienna officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church
cemetery.
Friends called at the Mount Funeral Home in Vienna. Masonic services
were held at the funeral home on Saturday night.
