Helen M. Campbell

Helen M. Casey Campbell, daughter of Henry McCuan, Jr. & Ollie Marie (Dalton) McCuan, was born February 15, 1913 in the Sanburn community, near Tunnel Hill, IL. She departed this life Saturday evening, June 25, 2005 at 8:35 PM at Massac Memorial Hospital in Metropolis, IL. At the time of her passing, Helen had attained the age of 92 years, 4 months & 10 days.

 Helen was united in marriage to Johnnie Casey in November 1934. He preceded her in death on May 25, 1953. She was later united in marriage to John R. Campbell. He preceded her in death in 1981.

 Survivors include: 2 Daughters – Bonnie Kerley & her husband B. R., of Metropolis, IL & Mary Alice Parker & her husband James, of Vienna, IL; 8 Grandchildren; 23 Great Grandchildren; 22 Great-Great Grandchildren; a Brother – Billie McCuan of Vienna, IL; Nieces, Nephews, Other Relatives & Many Dear Friends.

In addition to her Parents & Husbands, Helen was preceded in death by: 4 Brothers – Herbert, Guy, Tommy & Raymond McCuan; 1 Sister – Ruby Adkins; a Grandson – Jon Ricky Simmons.

Helen was a homemaker. She had also served as a housekeeper for various local families. Helen had worked until the age of 84 years. Helen was a Vienna High School class of 1934 graduate. She was a member of the Tunnel Hill Pentecostal Church for many years & lived her life as a testament of her beliefs. Helen enjoyed attending yard sales, shopping, & cooking. She was well-noted for her coconut cream pies.

Helen was a devoted Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother & Great-Great Grandmother. She will be forever remembered as a kind, moral, loving & giving person who always put God & everything else before herself.

Helen leaves her family & many dear friends to cherish her memory.

A Graveside service will be conducted Wednesday morning, June 29, 2005 at 10 AM at the Reynoldsburg Cemetery, near Tunnel Hill, IL. Rev. Albert Simmons will officiate.

Friends may call from 6 PM – 8 PM Tuesday at the Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna, IL.
