John Ford

John Henry Ford, who has been in bad health for several months, suffering with Goitre and Diabetes, died at his home southeast of Vienna Tuesday morning Nov. 12, 1929, at 12:30 o'clock.

He had been a farmer for the greater part of his life, a good honest Christian man, who had the respect of all his acquaintances. He had lived to raise all his children to manhood and womanhood, who are good respectable people and making their way in the world.

Funeral services were held at the M. E. Church by the pastor Rev. J. M. Clayton and assisted by Eld. L.A. Russell, pastor of the Baptist Church of Vienna, followed by interment in the Fraternal Cemetery. Quite a large crowd of sorrowing relatives and friends attended the service, showing the high esteem in which the deceased was held in this county.

The following obituary was read at the service at the M. E.Church as follows:
John Henry Ford, son of Enoch and Rebecca ford, was born February 12, 1871, was 58 years and 9 months of age. Departed this life November 12, at 12:30 A.M.

He was converted some time in early life, living a  good and faithful Christian life. Thirty-Eight years ago he was united in marriage to Ella Pippins to this union six children were born,  two having preceded him in death namely Coy and Jenny Opal, dying in infancy.

He leaves to mourn his departure, wife and children, Willie of Vienna; Nellie Wilson of Mounds, IL; Roy and Loren of Vienna; two sisters, Betty Simpson of Vienna and Rosa Anderson of Harrisburg, two brothers and one sister having preceded him in death.

Mr. Ford was loved by all that knew him, because his kind ways made friends of all he met. He suffered from a dreadful disease Diabetes and Goitre, being sick for some time. He stood it all with patients and talked of Heaven's bright shore for his future home. He will be greatly missed here, but God calls his children to a brighter home.
There will be one vacant chair, no one can fill his place, so fair, husband and father has gone before,
We will meet him when we open Heaven's door, Though we bid him a sad goodnight, We will meet him in Heaven's bright.
