Lillie (JONES) Ramey
Mrs. Lillie Ramey, wife of Albert Ramey died at her home in Grand Chain, Sunday night, after an illness of more than two years. Mrs. Ramey was born southeast of Vienna, and was a daughter of the late W. J. Jones, and of Mrs. Amanda Jones, who yet lives on the old homestead, but was too feeble to attend the services of her daughter and loved one. Mrs. Ramey was born, Nov. 21, 1885, her age being 47 years, 7 months and 11 days. Her husband, Albert Ramey, one son, a daughter-in-law, and an infant grand child survive her as do four sisters, Mrs. Chas. Watson, Mrs. Sam Weave. Mrs. Dale Beach of Vienna, and Mrs. Hiram Lasley of Metropolis and one brother, Owen Jones of Granite City. Funeral services were held at the family home in Grand Chain at 1:30 o'clock on Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. C. S. Benninger, pastor of the Congregational Church of Grand Chain and then, complying with her request, her body was brought to the Fraternal Cemetery here at Vienna and laid tenderly to rest. Her husband, son and all the sorrowing family have the sympathy of The Times. 1885 - 1932
