Loren Marshall Ford

Loren Marshall Ford, was born in Johnson County, Illinois on May 25, 1904, a son of John and Martha Ella Pippins Ford. He departed this life suddenly on May 12, 1964 while a patient at Marion Memorial Hospital. At the time of his death he was 59 years of age.

On April 06, 1922 in Johnson County, he was united in holy matrimony to Freeda Hester who is now left to mourn the passing of this her beloved husband of 42 years of marriage. To this union eight children were born, all of whom survive the passing of their beloved father.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Brown of Ozark; Mrs. Wilma Soper of Marion; and Mrs. Betty Woning of St. Louis, Missouri; five sons, Robbie Ford of Vienna, Ralph and Loren Jr. of Kankakee; Billy Ford of Anna and Donald Ford of Lockport and their respective families all of whom will miss him sadly. He is further survived by one sister, Mrs. Nellie Wilson of Vienna, and two brothers, Willie and Roy Ford both of Vienna; 28 grandchildren and a host of other relatives who loved him dearly.

Except for the years of 1956-1957 when he and his family made their home in Cairo, he spent his entire life in Vienna and Johnson County. Here he was known as a farmer who spent a number of years working in fruit production. Here he won unto himself a countless number of friends who looked to him in great respect and admiration. They appreciated his qualities of loyalty, fair dealing and dependability qualities upon which his life was based.

As a husband and father, he remained a source of strength to his wife and children. They stood first and foremost in his mind, and the happiest times of his life were those times that he spent in their company. The love and affection he had for his children all of whom loved him deeply. They showed him all the warmth and respect due one so close and so loved.

In  life he attached himself to the teachings of Jesus Christ  as taught through the Pentecostal church and carried with him the knowledge of God the Father, the Giver of Life eternal. Those who loved him so dearly and who are now left to mourn his sudden passing have only to seek comfort in the fact that their loved one has been received into the protective arms of God the Father where he will remain eternally a reward for for a life so well and so richly lived.

Blessed be the name of Loren Marshall Ford
