Margaret L. Rushing

Margaret Rushing, 73, of Marion passed away at 5:03 PM, Tuesday, July 20, 2004 at her residence.

 Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 24, 2004 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Ray Conley officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, July 23, 2004 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Wise-Robinson Cemetery, New Burnside. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. 

Mrs. Rushing was born on November 3, 1930 in Stonefort, Illinois to Verna and Recil (Buckner) Powell. She married John W. Rushing on July 27, 1948 in Marion, Illinois, he preceded her in death on July 18, 1990. 

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Virginia Rients of Bloomington, Barbara and John Roberts of Cotton Dale, Alabama, and Annette and Dan Richardson of McNabb; twelve grandchildren; two great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Wanda Rushing of Creal Springs; son-in-law, Frank Caporale of Campbell Hill; sister and brother-in-law, Phylis and Bill Rodgers of Marion; brothers and sisters-in-law, Junior and Louise Powell of Stonefort, Leo and Shirley Powell of Marion, Harlan and Jean Ann Powell of Creal Springs, Melvin and Shirley Powell of Creal Springs, Eugene and Judy Powell of Joliet, and Justin Powell of Creal Springs; sisters-in-law, Helen Price of Joliet and Alice Cairns of Wisconsin; special friend, Mary Ada Bundren; and several nieces and nephews.

 She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, Steven Rushing; daughter, Susan Caporale; grandson, Matthew Adams; sister-in-law, Brenda Powell; and brothers-in-law, Milford Price and John Cairns.

 Mrs. Rushing was a homemaker and formerly worked at H & R Block in Harrisburg. She was a real estate broker and owner at Rushing Reality in Cherokee Village, Arkansas. She was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.
