Mary E. Averitt

Services for Mary Elizabeth Averitt, 85, of Vienna will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. The Rev. Richard Swiney will officiate. Burial will be in Berea Cemetery, south of Vienna.

Mrs. Averitt died at 5:50 a.m. Friday at her home.

Mrs. Averitt was an ordained minister and a member of Faith Harvest Assembly Church in Vienna.

Surviving are her husband of 57 years, William B. Averitt; three daughters, Agnes Rose, of El Paso, Mary Faulkner, and Carol Watkins, both of Vienna; six sons, Albert Norton of Chatsworth, Ga., William Averitt Jr. of Granite City, Thomas Averitt of Marion, Jesse Averitt of Vienna, Gary Averitt of Goreville and John Paul Averitt of Anna; three sisters, Beulah Davis of Cleveland, Miss., Gayola O'Hair of Newport, Ky., and Virginia McBride of Simpson; three brothers, Stanley Abner of Warren, Ohio, Jess Abner of the Unionville community, and Ernest Abner of Paducah; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter; two sons; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother; one sister; and one nephew. Her parents were Jesse and Mary Maines Abner.

Friends may call after noon Sunday at the funeral home.
