Melvin C. Gurley

Melvin C. Gurley, age 71, of Vienna, died at 4:20 a.m. Monday, November 23, 1981 at his home.

He was born in Vienna, May 12, 1910 to Frank and Minnie (Files) Gurley. On June 19, 1936, he married Nadine Covitt.

Mr. Gurley is survived by his wife, 3 daughters, Shirley McKenzie and Ruby Ragain, both of Marion and Doris Lawrence of Channanon, IL; 2 sisters, Prudence McKenzie of Vienna and Hazel Davis of Roadhouse, IL; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by 4 half-sisters and one half brother.

He was an electrician, had attended Belknap Public Schools and was an Army Veteran of WWII.

Services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25 at the Whitnel Funeral Home. Rev. Dennis Lunsford officiated. Burial was in Robinson/Wise Cemetery near Ozark.
