Mildred (GURLEY) Verble - Adams
Mildred (GURLEY) Verble - Adams, 85, of Buncombe, passed away Tuesday, Feb 25, 2003, at 6:15am at Hillview Health Care in Vienna. She was born June 21, 1917, in Union County, the daughter of William Elijah & Etta (HOOD) Gurley. She married John Verble on Aug. 14, 1937 and he passed away Jan. 4, 1983. She later married Charles Adams and he survives. She was a homemaker and was a member of Cedar Grove United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, Charles Adams of Buncombe; one son, David (Brenda) Verble of Buncombe; three granddaughters, Amy (Jack) Cochran of Buncombe, Teresa (Tony) Thrower of Jackson, Mo. and Michelle (Lowell) Anderson of Anna; five great-grandchildren, Brandon Skyes, Travis Thrower, Austin Thrower, Jacalin Cochran, Jessica Cochran; nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; 1st husband; and three sisters, Mina Crawford, Martha Dalton and Mary Elma Sonnenschein. Funeral services will be at 1pm on Thursday, Feb27, 2003 at Crain Funeral Home in Anna. Interment will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Buncombe. Visitstion will be Wednesday from 5pm to 8pm and on Thursday until time of service at the Crain funeral Home in Anna. |
