Myra June Vaughn

Myra June Vaughn, daughter of Henry Pleas Vinson &
Lillian (Goddard) Vinson, was born June 8, 1917 in the Tunnel Hill
Township of Johnson County, IL. She departed this life Sunday evening,
January 9, 2005, at 10:45 PM at the Woodland Convalescent Center in
Newburgh, IN. At the time of her passing, June had attained the age of
87 years 7 months & 1 day.
June was united in marriage to Curtis C. Vaughn on August 16, 1936 in
Albion, IL. He preceded her in death on June 30, 1995.
Survivors include: a Son – Henry & Sue Vaughn of Evansville, IN; a
Daughter – Charlotte Stoll-Reynolds of Evansville, IN; 5 Grandsons –
Rick Vaughn, Ross Vaughn, Joseph Stoll, Jeffrey Stoll, & Jay Curtis
Stoll; 9 Great Grandchildren – Jenny Vaughn, Sara Vaughn, Taylor
Stoll, Tanner Stoll, Memry Stoll, Mason Stoll, Carolina Stoll, Michelle
Stoll, & Joey Stoll; a Sister – Ann Alden; Nieces, Nephews &
Cousins.
In addition to her Parents & Husband, June was preceded in death by:
a Brother – George A. “Jack” Vinson; a Sister – Kathleen Dowdy;
& Grandchildren – Mariann & Gregory.
June was a graduate of the Harrisburg School of Beauty Culture. She,
along with her sister Kathleen, operated a beauty shop in Vienna. Later,
she operated a shop from her home in New Harmony, IN. June was a devoted
member of the Taylor United Methodist Church, where she had been a
member of the church choir. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of
America, the homemaker’s club of New Harmony, IN, and had served as a
Girl Scout leader. June enjoyed crocheting.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 14, 2005, at 1 PM at the
Taylor United Methodist Church. Rev. Dennis Fager will officiate.
Interment will be in the Taylor Cemetery.
Friends may call from 11 AM – 1 PM Friday at Taylor United Methodist
Church.
