Myrtle Glover

Myrtle Lula Glover, daughter of John Alford Dunkin & Mary Bucca
(Mason) Dunkin, was born July 7, 1911 in Bloomfield, Missouri. She
departed this life Monday morning, May 24, 2004, at 10:55 AM at the
Hillview Health Care Center in Vienna, IL. At the time of her passing,
Myrtle had attained the age of 92 years 10 months & 17 days.
Myrtle was united in marriage to Cecil Glover on September 6, 1930 in
Dexter, MO. He preceded her in death in 1986.
Survivors include: a Daughter – Mary Lou Alford, and her husband Bill,
of Vienna, IL; a Son – Donald Glover, and his wife Wanda, of Denver,
CO; 5 Grandchildren – Michele Price, Mark Palmer, Matthew Palmer,
Jennifer Glover, & Polly Glover; 3 Step Granddaughters; 8 Great
Grandchildren; a Sister – Ruth Nelson of Saint Stephens Church, VA.
Myrtle was a Homemaker. She had worked as a Sales Clerk at
Stick-Barr-Fuller Department Store in St. Louis, MO. Additionally, she
had worked as a clerk at Carps Department Store in Ava, MO, as well as
the Ben Franklin Store & McCormick’s Dollar Store both in Vienna,
IL
Myrtle was of the Landmark Missionary Baptist faith. She had served as a
church song leader, pianist, former church clerk, Sunday School Teacher,
and Vacation Bible School teacher. Myrtle was a dedicated Christian. Her
Father had served as a Missionary to the Native Americans. Myrtle was a
faithful & devoted supporter of her husband’s ministry.
Myrtle enjoyed sewing & crocheting.
Myrtle leaves her family & many friends to cherish her memory.
A Graveside Service will be conducted Wednesday, May 26, 2004, at 2:30
PM at the Vienna Fraternal Cemetery. Brother Jerry Adams will officiate.
Friends may call from 1 PM – 2 PM Wednesday at Bailey Funeral Home in
Vienna.
