Norvell Dunn

Norvell Dunn, son of Virgil Dunn & Xenoline (BURKLOW) Dunn, was born on July 6, 1935 in Goreville, Illinois. He departed this life Saturday morning, August 2, 2003, at 1:35am at the Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky. At the time of his passing, Norvell had attained the age of 68 years & 27 days.

Survivors include; 3 sister- Naomi Edwards of Nashville, TN, Myrtle & Carl Kelley of Goreville, IL. and Catherine & Grange Gordon of Olney, IL; 2 brothers- Billy Dunn and Wayne Dunn, both of Cypress, IL.

Norvell was a 1954 graduate of the Vienna High School. He was a 1955 graduate of Draughon's Business College in Paducah, KY. He then received his BS & MS degrees from Southern Illinois University. Norvell was employed for approx. 15 years in the Trust Dept. of Continental Illinois National Bank & Trust in Chicago, IL. He retired with over 20 years service as a Professor of Accounting at Richland Community College in Decatur, IL. He was a member of the Illinois Federation of Teachers.

Norvell was of the Baptist faith. He was an avid outdoorsman, who especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. Norvell was a devoted member of the N. R. A.

Funeral services will be held Monday morning, August 4, 2003, at 11am at the Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Rev. Fred Meece will officiate. Interment will be in the Busby Chapel Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be accorded by the Carroll P. Foster VFW Post of Anna, IL.

Friends may call after 6pm Sunday at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
