88, passed away at 8:33 a.m.
Saturday, May.23, 2009, in Herrin
Hospital.
Services will
be at 1 p.m. Tuesday-
May 26, 2009, in Blue Funeral
Home in Goreville, with the Rev. R.
G. Null officiating. Burial will be in
Busby Cemetery in Goreville.
Visitation will be from noon to 1
p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home;

Mrs. Blackwell
was born April.29,.
1921, in Dunklin County, Mo., to
Joe and Marie (Tolar) Huggins. She
married James Blackwell; together
they shared 31 years of marriage.
Survivors
include her husband,
James of Goreville; stepson, Greg
Blackwell and his friend, Jeanette,
of Mattoon; five stepgrandchildren
and several stepgreat-
grandchildren; sisters and brothers-
in-law, Janell Lee, Betty and Joe
Collins and Barbara and Larry
Maine, all of Covington, Ky., and
Martha and Jack Davis of Goreville;
several nieces and nephews;
sisters-in-law, Jennie Huggins and
Mary Huggins; and special friends,
Fred and Mary Kilmer, Sherry
Durham, Michelle Billingsley, Carol
Trexler and Lois Hancock.
She was
preceded in death by her
parents; her first husband; brothers,
Thomas E., Claudedean, James
Dean, Elmer Dale, J. E. and Glen Huggins; sisters Ivabell Nething, Ruby
Jewell Huggins and Allice Huggins; two infant siblings; and stepson,
Gary Blackwell.
Mrs. Blackwell was a homemaker, and she owned and operated her own
business for many years. She was the Greyhound Lines bus
ticket agent in Goreville, and hse volunteered at VA Medical Center in
Marion. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
