Cora E. Porter
Mrs. Cora E. Bruns, 87, of Londell, Mo., former Cahokia resident, died at 9:05 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11 at St. Francis Hospital, Washington, Mo. She had been a patient since Nov. 21. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon in the Kurrus Chapel, East St. Louis, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Canteen Township. Mrs. Bruns was born in Johnson County, Ill. Dec. 29, 1878, the daughter of William L. and Louisa Brown Porter, and lived in the East St. Louis area from 1917 to 1962, when she moved to Missouri. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Lester (Mary) O'Dell of Cahokia and Mrs. Ancel (Ruth) Wallace of Lonedell; six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Her husband, L. H. Bruns died in 1942, and a son, William Bruns died in 1951. |
