Funeral services were held Saturday, May 7th at 1:00 p.m. at the Baptist church in Grantsburg, for one of our most respected citizens. The impressive services were conducted by Bro. Reynolds of Harrisburg, and Bro. Langston of Dixon Springs, in the presence of many sorrowing relatives and friends. At the conclusion of the services the remains were taken to the Kerley cemetery for interment, in charge of Thornton- Henley undertakers. The following obituary was read at the funeral.
Iby Minerva Simmons Dixon answered death's summons on May 6, 1932, at the age of 65 years and 2 days.  She was born May 4th, 1867.  She was united in marriage to James W. Dixon, and to this union four children were given to bless the home and make life more sweet.
An infant and daughter, Rena, who have passed on to the great beyond, Ernie and Onzie living.  She also leaves one sister and brother, Lucinda Morris and Oliver Simmons, six grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn their loss.
She was converted at an early age and united with County Line Baptist Church, where she remained a devout member.  She bore her sufferings with patience and fortitude and often expressed her desire as willing and ready to go.  She was a loyal mother to her children, a good neighbor and friend to all."
