Lowell is gone, but not forgotten,Never will his memory fade, Sweetened thoughts will ever linger Around the grave where he is laid We loved him, yes, we loved him, But the Saviour loved him more, So the Angel sweetly called him To the bright and happy shore. The Golden gates were opened A gentle voice saie "Come" And with a farewell unspoken He calmly entered home. It was had to part with Lowell, Oh be hard to see him die, But then we will try and meet him Some sweet day by and by. Thus he leaves to mourn his departure a father, mother, one half brother, Elbert Escue of Benton, ILL, two half- sisters, Mrs. Herbert Ragsdale of Buncombe, ILL, Mrs. Everett Bundy of East St. Louis, ILL, and a host of relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by two half sisters, Emma Jewell Stokes at the age of one year and Flora Marie Escue at the age of 18 years. There is a vacancy that cannot be filled. |
