Virgil L. Gore

He was born Sept. 18, 1910, in Cypress, the son of Samuel and Euphemia Adams Gore. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lavon Pearson Gore; one brother, Gerald Gore; and two sisters, Dorothy Clinton and Betty Shipley. Mr. Gore was a member of Central Christain Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II. He retired from Allis Chalmers in 1970. Surviving are one daughter, Patricia Clayton of Springfield; two sons, Jack of Fort Worth, Texas and Leon of Abilene, Texas; five stepchildren, Vance Pearson of Ridge Farm, Maxine Jones of Danville, Dorothy Bellamy of Crown Point, Ind., Audrey Bell of Urbana and Paul Pearson of Columbia, Mo.; three grandchildren; several stepgrandchildren; one brother, Lavern Gore of Buncombe; and one sister, Vernita Shabi of Murfreesboro, Tenn. Services were held Sunday, Sept. 17 at Lakeside Funeral Chapel in Danville, with Dr. Jerry Martin officiating. Burial was at Roselawn Memorial Park. |
