GOREVILLE - Larry M.
Gurley, 65, of Goreville passed away Monday, March 19, 2007, in
Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m.
Thursday, March 22, 2007, in Busby Chapel Church in Goreville, with the
Rev. Kenneth Blumenstock and the Rev. Brent Schuetz officiating.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, March 21, 2007, at the
church. Burial will be in Busby Cemetery in Goreville.
Memorials may be made to Busby Chapel
building fund. Envelopes are available at the funeral home, or
memorials may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, P.O. Box 411, Marion, IL
62959.
Mr. Gurley was born Nov. 12, 1941, in
Johnson County to Louie Albert and Ruth (Thornton) Gurley.
He married Brenda Smith in Busby Chapel
Church in Goreville on Feb. 9, 1964. She survives of Goreville.
He is also survived by two sons, Mark
Gurley of Marion and Chad Gurley of Atlanta, Ga.; two daughters,
Shannon Odum and husband, Mike, and Kenya Gurley, all of Goreville;
granddaughters, Alexandria Odum, Kelsie Odum and Taylor Odum; and a
special aunt, Winnie McMillen of Marion.
He was preceded in death by his parents
and one brother, Jerry Gurley.
Mr. Gurley served in the Army during the
Vietnam War. He was a member and deacon at Busby Chapel Church. He also
enjoyed watching sports and spending time with his granddaughters.
