Russell Leon Kerley, age 47 of Vienna died Wednesday, June 27, 1990 at the Marion VA Medical center. He was born March 16, 1943 at Harrisburg the son of William Russell and Alma Rita Wells Kerley. On July 5, 1978 he married Shirley Bess, who survives.
Mr. Kerley is also survived by his father, William Russell Kerley of Vienna; his mother, Alma Rita Parmele of Vienna; a daughter, Lisa Ann Kerley of West Frankfort; a son, Kevin Leon Kerley of Vienna; a sister, Joan Faulkner of Vienna; one half-sister; one half-brother; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was a correctional officer for Wade Correctional Center in Hanesville, Louisiana; was a U. S. Army Veteran ( Korea); and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church at Peoria.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 30, 1990 at 11 a.m. at Aly Funeral Home, Vienna with the Rev. Bill Gholson officiating. Burial was in Gilead Cemetery, near Simpson.
