Joan Morris, daughter of William Paul Shoemaker & Helen Elizabeth (Taylor) Shoemaker, was born August 19, 1933 in Johnson County, Illinois.
She departed this life Thursday morning, June 3, 2004 at 1:30 AM at her home near Vienna, IL.
At the time of her passing, Joan had attained the age of 70 years, 9 months & 15 days.
Joan was united in marriage to Charles E. Morris on August 21, 1951 in Vienna, IL. He preceded her in death on August 1, 2002.
Survivors include: 3 Daughters - Twyla Gorden & her husband Greg, of Vienna, IL, Joy Trammell & her husband Wes, of Stonefort, IL & Misty Lelm & her husband Doug, of Bloomington, IL; 7 Grandchildren – Teresa Austin & her husband Chris, Gail Simmons & her husband Neil, Kara Marshoff, Stacy Webb & her husband Tim, Tracy Taylor & her husband Jason, Kyle Trammell & Kacy Gore & her husband .
8 Great Grandchildren - Garrett Mott, Brady Austin, Haylee Webb, Loren Webb, Easton Marshoff, Trey Taylor, Emma Austin, & Madison Kerley; 1 Sister – Sue Ross & her husband Lowell, of Simpson, IL; 1 Brother – Bob Shoemaker & his wife Jean, of Vienna, IL; Several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, other relatives & friends.
Joan was a 1950 Graduate of the Vienna High School.
Joan was a Homemaker. She was an excellent Cook & was the "Pie Maker" at Dolly’s Restaurant in Vienna for many years. Joan was a member of the Simpson Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing.
Joan leaves her family & many dear friends to cherish her memory.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon, June 5, 2004 at 1 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna, IL. Rev. William Barrett & Rev. Richard Martin will officiate.
Burial will be in the Reynoldsburg Cemetery, near Ozark, IL.
Friends may call from 11 AM - 1 PM Saturday at the Bailey Funeral Home.
