Mildred E. (Rushing) Palmer
Mildred was a cook for the Shawnee Shelter Care and a member of the Glendale United Methodist Church, the Mary Circle and the Eddyville Senior Citizens, where she loved to quilt. She had made many quilts for her family. She is survived by her husband, John; three sons, Donald Boaz and wife Betty of LaFollette, Tenn., John David Palmer and wife Lana of Belleville and Pastor Steven Palmer and wife Linda of Carterville; one daughter, Charlotte Palmer of Springfield; one brother, John Rushing and wife Mary of Simpson; two sisters, Carrie Wise and husband Buell of Simpson and Faye Faulkner and husband James of Granite City; eight grandchildren, Sherry Kramer, Tina Markus, Cindy Sauer, Jamie Palmer, Jeremy Palmer, Jason Palmer, Todd Palmer and Jenny Palmer; 10 great-grandchildren, Stephanie Kramer, Justin Kramer, Matt Sauer, Amanda Sauer, Abbey Markus, Josh Sauer, Corey Markus, Brendan Palmer, Sydnie Palmer and Riley Markus. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Joyce, and two sisters, Helen Phelps Emerson and Mary G. Scarborough. Services will be held at Glendale United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 1, 2005, with the Rev. Dennis Fager officiating. Burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, January 31, 2005, at the Glendale United Methodist Church. Aly Funeral Home, Eddyville, is in charge of arrangements |
