Phyllis I. Thompson, 82, a resident of Grantsburg, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 1996, at 7:55 a.m. at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Harold Mott, near Grantsburg.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Whitnel Funeral Home in Vienna with burial in Nelson Cemetery near Grantsburg.

She was born September 29, 1913 in Grantsburg, the daughter of the late V. L. and Louisa Smith Ditterline.

She was united in marriage to Leroy Troutt, who preceded her in death. She was later married to Herbert Thompson. He preceded her in death on May 27, 1974.

Survivors include five daughters, Joan Weekly of Simpson, Norma Barger of Goreville, Deanna Bates, Linda Mott and Cheryl Bernning, all of Grantsburg.; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lowell Ditterline of Grantsburg and Hollace Ditterline of Griffith, Ind.; and three sisters, Amy Wright and Carolyn Jennings, both of Grantsburg and Beatrice Shoemaker of Vienna.

She was a homemaker and cook at the Grantsburg Grade School. She attended the Lincoln Public School and was a member of the Grantsburg Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents and her husbands, Phyllis was preceded in death by one brother, Hillis Ditterline; one sister, Verda Ragain and one infant brother, Vessa Neal Ditterline.
