Throgmorton

James Joseph "Jimmy Joe" Throgmorton, 68, of Vienna, died 10:55 a.m.,Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000, at his home. He was born Feb. 25, 1931, in St. Louis, to Joseph "Joe" and Mayme (Hodges) Throgmorton.
[His wife survives.]

He was a pharmacist who owned and operated Throgmorton Drug Store in
Vienna from 1958-1978. He also was an Illinois State Drug Inspector. In recent years, he was hired by several Southern Illinois pharmacies, including Kroger pharmacies, from which he retired in 1998. Since that time, he worked as an associate pharmacist at Dahncke Pharmacy in Vienna.

He was a graduate of Vienna High School and earned a bachelor's degree in zoology from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. He graduated from St. Louis College of Pharmacy in 1956.

He was a member of Vienna First Christian Church and a member of Vienna Masonic Lodge No. 150 AF and AM. In addition, he was a Kentucky Colonel and a former community ambassador for SIU.

Visitation is 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22 at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23 at Bailey Funeral Home in
Vienna. The Rev. Dan Ferrell will officiate.

Burial will be in Vienna Fraternal Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial donations may be made to Vienna First
Christian Church, P. O. Box 637, Vienna, Ill., 62995-0637. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
