Orpha F. Corzine
Orpha F. Corzine, age 91 years, a resident of Vienna, and a former resident of Goreville, passed away Wednesday evening, Nov. 14, 2001, at 8:45pm at the Hillview Health Care Center in Vienna. She was born Nov. 8, 1910 in Goreville. She was the daughter of W. P. Kelley and Mexico (OLLIS) Kelley. Orpha was united in marriage to Paul T. Corzine on Feb. 5, 1938 in Cape Girardeau, Mo. He preceded her in death on Nov. 9, 1995. Survivors include a niece and four nephews, Blanche Ray of Goreville, Lester & Margaret Kelley of Nashville, Tenn. Bill and Juanita Kelley of Goreville, William R. and Sandra Kelley of St. Peters, Mo. Carl and Myrtle Kelley of Goreville; great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Orpha was preceded in death by three brothers, Sam Kelley, Noel Kelley and Alvah Kelley and a nephew, Francis Ray Kelley. Orpha was a 1930 graduate of the Goreville High School. She was employed for 26 years as a Postal Clerk at the Goreville Post Office, retiring in the late 1960's. Orpha was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America, the Goreville Senior Citizens, and the Whistlers and Whittlers Senior Citizens organization. She was a longtime member of the Goreville First Baptist Church, where she served over 25 years as Church Secretary. Orpha enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and working crossword puzzles. Funeral services were held Saturday morning, Nov. 17, 2001, at 11am at the Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Burial was in the Cana Cemetery, north of Goreville.
