Richard Hall
Richard H. Hall, the son of Elgin D. and Olive Hall was born on December 5, 1875, and departed this life on March 28, 1931, at the age of 55 years, 3 months and 23 days. He was united in marriage to Miss Martha Howell on November 4, 1903 and to this union were born four children. Three of whom survive him, namely: Mrs. Glynna Rumfelt of Dover, Tenn.; Mrs. Bertha Bradley of Goreville, and Jean Hall at home. A daughter, Mrs. Afton Mighell preceded him in death over a year ago, having passed over on February 10, 1930. He also leaves his grief stricken widow and three grand children, besides his three sisters, Mrs. Martha Peterson of Buncombe, Mrs. Alice Lingle of Johnston City, and Mrs. Myrtle Plotte of Little Rock, Ark.; and three brothers, Fred Hall of Johnston City; Dolph Hall of Moline, and Lora Hall of Herrin, and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn after him. He professed faith in Christ several years ago at Cedar Grove Church and united with the Methodist Church at Farmers’ Bluff, eight years ago and has lived a devoted Christian life since. He was very devoted to his family and will be sadly missed by them and his many friends. Funeral services were held at Busby Church near Goreville on Sunday, March 29, 1931, conducted by Rev. J. L. Davis of Johnston City. |
