Ruby Reynolds

Ruby Reynolds, daughter of Joe G. Harper & Minnie (Casey) Harper, was born February 15, 1915 in the Harpertown Community (Tunnel Hill, IL). She departed this life Saturday evening, June 4, 2005, at 8:10 PM at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY. At the time of her passing, Ruby had attained the age of 90 years, 3 months & 17 days.

Ruby was united in marriage to Troy Emery on July 10, 1931 in Ozark, IL. He preceded her in death on February 16, 1957. Ruby was then united in marriage to Marshall Jackson on September 8, 1960 at the United Methodist Church parsonage in New Burnside, IL. He preceded her in death on July 4, 1984. Ruby was later united in marriage to Paul Wesley Reynolds on June 3, 1986 in Tunnel Hill, IL. He preceded her in death on May 2, 1998.

Survivors include: 2 Daughters – Oma Lou Bundren, & her husband L.M., of New Burnside, IL, Joy Fay Morris, & her husband Harlan, of New Burnside, IL; a Son – Joe Eddie Emery, & his wife Sharon, of New Burnside, IL; 6 Grandchildren – Marshal Wayne Bundren of Gary, IN, Teresa & Doug McKiddy of Portage, IN, Glen & Cathy Bundren of Gary, IN, Tiffany Lynn & Matt Businaro of Harrisburg, IL; Brent Jason & Laura Newbold of Cincinnati, OH, Paul Daniel Newbold of New Burnside, IL; 3 Step Grandchildren – Ricky Morris of New Burnside, IL, Tammy Werner of New Burnside, IL, Rusty & Pam Morris of Ozark, IL; 8 Great Grandchildren – Sara Bundren of Tennessee, Donovan McKiddy of Portage, IN; Amity & Jeff Korey of Lansing, IL, Amber McKiddy of Lafayette, IN, Glen Bundren, Jr. of Gary, IN, Avah Lynn Businaro of Harrisburg, IL; 8 Step Great Grandchildren – Shane Morris, Shawn Morris, Casey Morris, & Jessie Morris (all of Seymour, IN), Matt & Amy Street of New Burnside, IL, Jacob Street of New Burnside, IL, Joshua Morris of Ozark, IL, Tyler Morris of Ozark, IL; Several Step Great-Great Grandchildren; 2 Brothers – Norman Harper, & his wife Helen, of Vienna, IL & Cecil Harper, & his wife Mildred, of Vienna, IL; 2 Sisters-in-Law – Ruth Harper of Tunnel Hill, IL & Betty Harper of Vienna, IL; A Host of Nieces, Nephews, other relatives & many friends.

In addition to her Parents & Husbands, Ruby was preceded in death by: A Granddaughter – Polly Bundren; A Great Granddaughter – Allie Ann Bundren; A Step Grandson-in-Law – Chris Werner; A Step Great Grandson – Dustin Street; 3 Brothers – Fred, Joe, & Loree Harper; 3 Sisters – Jewell Cook, Opal Noonan, & Mary Lois Emery.

Ruby was a devoted homemaker. She enjoyed all aspects of home maintenance & repair, as well as vegetable raising & canning. She loved sewing & was an excellent seamstress & dress maker. Additionally, Ruby loved traveling & the outdoors, as well as flower gardening. Ruby was a loving & devoted Mother. She took great pride in her family’s accomplishments & encouraged them in their education & professional careers. Ruby was the last surviving Charter member of the New Life Senior Citizens organization in New Burnside, IL. She voluntarily donated time, energy & resources to many of the club’s endeavors. Ruby was a faithful & longtime member of the New Burnside United Methodist Church. She taught the Loyal Daughters Sunday School class for many years.

Ruby leaves her family & many dear friends to cherish her memory.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning, June 8, 2005, at 10 AM at Reynoldsburg Church, near Tunnel Hill, IL. Rev. Jim Lambert will officiate. Interment will be in the Reynoldsburg Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 PM – 9 PM Tuesday at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. The body will Lie-in-state at the church from 9 AM – 10 AM Wednesday.
