William H. Hadders

William H. Hadders, age 70, a resident of rural route Buncombe for the past 10 years and a former resident of Bradley, passed away Tuesday evening, Jan. 15, 2002, at 11:20pm at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Marion.

He was born Jan. 24, 1931 in Bradley. He was the son of Henry Hadders and Meta (SEAFORD) Hadders.

Bill was united in marriage to Betty Virginia (JENKINS) on March 24, 1954 in Bradley. She survives.

Other survives include six children, Connie and Bob Glass of West Vienna, Ginny and Louis Spenard of Gilbert, Ariz., Betty Ann Hadders of Buncombe, Henry and Geri Hadders of Bradley, Karen and Mark Loyd of Anna, Monty Hadders of Bradley; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; three sisters, Gracie Leroy of Clifton, Edith Papineau of Bourbonnais, Esther Coffman of Texas; one brother, David Hadders of Onarga; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Hadders.

Bill was a retired steel worker. He retired in 1973 from the Kankakee Steel Works. Bill was a member of the United Steel Workers Union.

Bill was a U. S. Army veteran. He was a former member of the Bradley VFW Post.

Bill was the Lutheran faith. He was  a loving and devoted husband and father. Bill enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed  playing cards and was  a stock car enthusiast.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning, Jan 19, 2002, at the Goreville First Baptist Church. Rev. Ron Ferguson officiated.

Burial was in the Busby Chapel Cemetery, south of Goreville. Military graveside rites were conducted by the Beggs - Gurley VFW Post #5222 of Vienna.
