Woodrow Wilson Spraggs
Woodrow Wilson Spraggs, 86, of Buncombe passed away at 2:30pm, Wednesday, June 25, 2003 at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, June 27, 2003 at the Blue Funeral Home in Goreville with Brother Jim Shipley officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00pm Friday, June 26, 2003 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Cypress Masonic Cemetery in Cypress.
Mr. Spraggs was born on November 14, 1916 in Paducah, Kentucky to Wilson and Beulah (GREGGS) Spraggs. He married Ruby Johnson on September 23, 1939 in Charleston, Missouri together they shared 64 years of marriage.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Spraggs of Buncombe; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Linda Spraggs of Hebron, Indiana; daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie and Gerald Sullivan of Goreville, Kathryn Lindsey of Carbondale and Jo Ann and Don Laminack of Marissa; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Raymond Whitehead of Granbury, Texas, Phyllis and Geno Overton of Fort Worth, Texas, Betty and Robert McClintock of Auburn, Illinois, and Flo May and Howard Hughes of Dover, Tennessee; and brother and sister-in-law, Berry Eugene and Beulah of Pekin, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Steve Spraggs; and sister and brother-in-law, Melba and Walter Robinson.
Mr. Spraggs worked as a welder for the E. J. & E Railroad. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Buncombe.
