1855 Census of Deaf & Dumb, Blind & Insane
in the County of Kane, State of Illinois
I am not making this up - there actually was a census schedule with this name. There was also one taken in 1880,
though it was a little more politically correctly titled "Schedules of Handicapped, Dependent & Delinquent
Inhabitants of Illinois". This just goes to show what you can find in the Illinois State Archives with a little
digging!
