Kendall County was formed in 1841. It was created from
LaSalle and Kane counties. Kendall County was named
after Amos Kendall, a newspaper editor who later became an
important advisor to President Andrew Jackson. He also
became U.S. Postmaster in 1835.
The county seat is Yorkville.
The largest village is
Kendall county is 322 square miles in size with most of its population along the Fox River.
