DEATH OF MRS. JENKS, THE OLDEST CHAUTAUQUAN
Mrs. Clarissa JENKS, a resident of Winnebago county since 1836, and the oldest Chautauquan graduate in the world, died, in Rockford, Saturday afternoon, at the age of 90 years. She was the mother of J. H. JENKS, of Aurora and Dr. Jenks who has been one of the successful physicians of Plano, for over 30 years. [Batavia Herald, Kane County, IL, 8 June 1893]
