Fraker's Grove
In this area stood a Potawatomi Village when Michael Fraker arrived from Kentucky about 1830. With kindness and understanding he negotiated a peaceful settlement with the Indians and became the first permanent settler in Northeastern Knox County. His Grave is about One-half miles south of this point.
Erected by the desendants of Michael Fraker and the Illinois Historical Society

Died on Jan 14, 1848
Age about 79 years 4mos 25 days as recorded on the Marker one half mile north.
First white settler in N. E. Knox Co. came to Illinois about 1828.
In this area there are about 26 other graves of relatives and friends.

This cemetery plot is 80 rods long and 1 rod wide.
