1899 Historical Encyclopedia of Illinois and Knox County
W. Seldon Gale & Geo. Candee Gale
published by Munsell Publishing Company, Publishers, Chicago & New York

Genealogy Trails was given permission by the former host of this site to display this data project. The name of the transcriber was given to us and we made sure to give the credit to that transcriber on the individual webpages when we initially uploaded the re-organized website (all the formatting and re-organization of this project was re-done by Kim T. in 2012)

We were not aware more than one person did the actual transcribing, and since that time it's come to our attention that another individual had also done actual transcribing of this data and would like the record set straight as to that fact, so we'll certainly give credit to where credit is due as to who spent the time to make this data available for the free use of all researchers.

NOTE: Additional Data has been transcribed and formatted by K. Torp, and this is because while going through the data and organizing things, I found there were chunks of data missing from some of the biographies and history sections. Not making any judgments, since it can happen to the best of us... so I just fixed what needed fixing and moved on. But I spent a LOT of my time to proofread and compare the bios against the original book, so this was truly a joint effort.
