Sharpers Defraud A Town

Spring Valley, Ill., June 30

Sharpers who claimed to represent glass manufacturing interests in western Indiana recently succeeded in getting a bonus of $6,000 subscribed for the removal to Troy Grove, from Indiana, of a glass plant employing 200 glass blowers.  The sharpers have the $6,000 in some unknown locality and the people of Troy are furious over the loss.

Mrs. Edwards Visits Decatur

Mrs. J. W. Edwards and her nephew, Orville Andrews of Troy Grove, spent last week visiting the former s cousin, William Herold.  It was their first meeting in thirty years.

Bank Robbers Sentenced
Chicago, Oct. 18 Samuel L. Bottom and Henry Lee Watson were on their way today to Leavenworth prison to start serving long sentences for robbing the Troy Grove, Ill., State Bank of $5,000, which included $188 in postal money order receipts.
