A.T. Tourtillott

Maj. A.T. Tourtillott was a member of Company K, 6th Regiment, in the Spanish American War. He saw service in Puerto Rico.

He became Sublette Township supervisor in APril, 1903, was elected sheriff of Lee County in 1906, and served four terms as representative of the 35th district in the General Assembly during the period from 1911 to 1924.

Maj. Tourtillott was born Sept. 27, 1858 on the farm near Sublette which his parents bought from the government in the early 1850's. The farm has remained in the family, and now is operated by a son-in-law and a daughter of the Major. Mr.a nd Mrs. Paul Mossholder.

There is another daughter Mrs. Mary Aydelotte, 419 Thirst St. Dixon.
