EUNICE M. (PHILLIPS) JARNAGIN , of Rock Falls died March 17, 1997, following a brief illness. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dixon with the Rev. Cynthia Stengel officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Melvin-Shilling Funeral Home in Sterling. Mrs. Jarnigan was born Aug. 14, 1928, in Belle Rive, a daughter of Dallas Clyde and Reva Beniard Phillips. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dixon. She was a member of the Amvets, V.F.W. auxiliaries in Rock Falls and Dixon, was past president of Amvets in Escanaba, Mich., was involved with the Dixon Humane Society and was a beautician in Dixon for a number of years. She is survived by three daughters, Katherine G. Kitsmiller of Rock Falls, Ellen (Emmett) Engel of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and Sherry (Ed) Howard of Waukegan; her mother, Reva Alber of Dixon; two sisters, Rosalie Lark of Chicago and Judy Warnock; three brothers, Lawrence (Celia) Phillips of New Jersey, James (Barbara) Phillips of Wisconsin and Norman Phillips of Kentucky; one sister-in-law, Emma Rhodes of Sterling; four grandchildren, Mary Ellen (John) Bateman, Ken (Heidi) Kitsmiller, Eric and Erin Engel; three great-grandchildren, Justin Bateman, Emily Rose and Vanessa Kay Kitsmiller; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts. She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Jarnigan; her father; her stepmother, Eva Phillips; and one brother, Cecil Phillips.

RUDOLPH A. JECKLIN , 82, of 13292 West South County Line Road, died Saturday, Sep. 2, 1995 in KSB Hospital in Dixon. He was a retired farmer, farming in the Ogle County area most of his lifetime. He was born Dec. 23, 1912 in Brookville to Rudolph R. and Menga (Conrad) Jecklin. He married Mary Fouch on Feb. 19, 1938 in the Little Brown Church, Nashua, Iowa. He was a member of the Ogle County Farm Bureau and a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dixon. He was preceded in death by one brother. Surviving include his wife; two sons, Paul (Carol) of Savannah, GA. and Russell (Sheryl) of Rockford; two brothers, Conrad (Pauline) of Polo and Frederick (Mildred) of Mount Morris; four grandchildren and two great -grandchildren. Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. in the Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Dixon with the Rev. Jeffrey V. Linman, pastor of The Immanuel Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel hill Memorial Park. Visitation was held Monday in the funeral home. A memorial has been established in the Immanuel Lutheran Church radio ministry.

DONNA J. JENKINS , 70, of Dixon , died Friday, Sept. 7, 2007, at her home. Survivors include a son, John J. Jenkins of Dixon ; five daughters, Brenda L. (Jaime) Tapia of Farmington, Ky., Treasa E. Werner of Dixon, Juanita K. “Sue” (David) Spink of Mount Morris, Ramona L. (Rodney) Bunger of Rochelle and Kimberly R. Zera of Dixon; four granddaughters, Amanda Triplett, Megan Triplett, Tracy Bunger and Angela Zera; a grandson, Evan Zera; and three great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Jenkins; a granddaughter, Chasity O’Dell; and a brother, Raymond Nehring. Private interment of cremains is at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens , Dixon . There is no visitation. Arrangements were completed by Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, Dixon .

ELLA M. (HARK) JOYCE , 97, of the Shannon Nursing Home, died Thursday (Sep. 21, 1989) at the Freeport Memorial Hospital following a long illness. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Dixon with the Rev. Paul Carlson, pastor of Good Shephard Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Park, Dixon. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service Monday. A memorial has been established. Mrs. Joyce was born Aug. 1, 1892 in Ashton, the daughter of Fred and Martha Herbenthal Hark. She married Joseph Joyce May 10 1917. He died in 1957. She was employed by the Dixon Developmental Center for 17 years. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lloyd (Virginia) Doyle of Lena, and Mrs. George (Shirley) Wolber of Sterling, one son, William Richard of Tucson, Ariz; ten grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren. She was preceded by one sister, one brother, and one daughter
