Elbert Shoemaker to Lorraine Wojtkiewiez

Mrs. Earl Bothe of Eldena wishes to announce the recent marriage of her son, Staff Sgt. Elbert Shoemaker to Miss Lorraine Wojtkiewiez daughter of Mrs. Alice Woutkiewiez of Chicago.

The wedding took place May 19, 1945 in the William Field Post Chapel, Chandler Ariz. by the Chaplain Vincent F. Havermann in the presence of Porfirio F. Laenz.

Miss Ann Wright, cousin of the bridegroom was bridesmaid and a member of Staff Sgt. Shoemaker's squadron was best man.

The bride wore a gown of white eyelet with white accessories and a yellow rose bouquet. The bridesmaid wore a gray dress with Fuchsia accessories and a corsage of Red Roses. " I Love You Truly" played softly on the organ.

The bridegroom is well known in this community, a graduate of Amboy High School class of '42. He entered the service in February of 43 and since that time has made 35 missions over Germany and has been awarded both the air medal and the distinguished flying cross.

The couple are residing at 463 Newell Ave., Mesa AZ. 15 miles from where the bridegroom is stationed as radio instructor.
