Collinsville Mayor Stan Schaeffer died overnight in his sleep, according to city officials. Schaeffer's death was unexpected. A cause of death was not immediately available. Schaeffer was in his third term as mayor. He was a former city councilman in Collinsville and was a retired guidance counselor at Collinsville High School.
