New Year's eve being the fifth anniversary of the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. T. F. McCoy was made the occasion of a little gathering of the friends and a very enjoyable time was had. They were complimented by a serenade from the Light Guard band, which added greatly to the enjoyment of the company. Mr. and Mrs. McCoy were the recipients of a few very nice presents:
A deed for the place in which they live - A. M. Pool
Inkstand and pen holder - Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Culver
Pair of elegant chairs - H.L. G.B.
Ebony hand painted paper rack - Mrs. W. H. Jones and Mrs. B. A. Kline.
Two steel engravings - S. F. McCoy
After saying goodbye to the old and good morning to the New Year, the ceremonies ended.

Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Myers

The Henry Republican, Henry IL, June 20, 1878

Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Myers celebrated the 20th anniversary of their wedded life at their residence near Varna, on Saturday week, June 8, guests being present from Lacon, Wenona, Peoria and Varna. Rev. Hunter of Galesburg entertained the company with an appropriate address, while music and good dinner were other pleasant features connected with the sociability of the occasion.
