PEORIA - Carroll E. "Bucko" Carlock Sr., 80, of Chandlerville, who formerly worked in Peoria, died at 7:52 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Born Aug. 11, 1918, in Chandlerville to Lewis L. and Mabel Farris Carlock, he married Beulah Rose Hopps on April 4, 1938, in Havana. She survives.

Also surviving are four sons, Carroll Jr., Thomas Sr., Gregory and Hal, all of Chandlerville; two daughters, Mrs. Don (Gwendolyn) Dirks of Virginia and Mrs. Jack (Peggy) Culp of Chandlerville; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond of Peoria and Jack of Chandlerville; one sister, Janet Shores of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by four sisters.

He was an inspector for Caterpillar Inc. in Peoria for 31 years. He was a World War II Army veteran.

He was a member of Chandlerville Christian Church.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Chandlerville Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Lintner-Buchanan Funeral Home in Chandlerville is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to his church.
