Joseph B Conover May 9, 1909, The Idaho Daily Statesman Twin Falls, Ida.---Joseph B. Conover, aged 70, a representative from Twin Falls county in the last Idaho legislature and commander of the local post G.A.R., died at 1 o'clock Thursday at his home here following several weeks illness resulting from allstones, for which he recently underwent an operation. Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Friday afternoon from the Baptist church. R.H. Barnes, former commandant of the Idaho Soldiers' Home, who served with Mr. Conover in the 85th Illinois regiment of volunteers in the civil war, will direct the ritualistic services for the G.A.R. A firing squad and bugler selected from among returned soldiers will assist in the ceremonies at the cemetery. As member of the Idaho legislature last winter Mr. Conover was the author of the measure appropriating $10,000 for the improvement of the state park at Shoshone Falls as a service men's memorial. His political experience prior to this time had been limited to one term as treasurer of Mason county, Ill., to which he was elected in 1869. He was one of the large property owners of this county. Mr. Conover is survived by his widow, two sons, M. Howard and Marshall, and one daughter, Miss Bessie Conover. Contributed by Kristin Vaughn
