Charles Thomas Lacey

Mason County Farmer, August 11, 1916

Charles Thomas Lacey, who had been in poor health for the past two years from a complication of diseases, from which he died at the home of his mother, Mrs. Angie Lacey in this village [Bath] at 6 o'clock Friday evening, [August] 4th, at the age of 43 years, 11 months and 18 days.

The decedent was born August 16, 1872 near Bath and was reared in and near Bath. He was united in marriage on November 27, 1900 to Miss Nellie Lockwood and three children were born to this union. He is survived by his wife, their children, Velda, Eula and DuWayne, his aged mother, and two sisters, Mrs. Robert Nelson of Springfield, Ill., and Mrs. B.F. Carr of Chandlerville, Ill., besides a host of other relatives and friends.

He professed religion under the ministery of Rev. E.L. Darley and was a member of the local M.E. church and M.W.A. lodge at the time of his demise.

Funeral services were held from the M.E. church on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, August 6, 1916, conducted by Rev. J.N. Meaker. Interment in Bath cemetery.
