Julius Zeeck Peoria Journal Star, September 30, 1996 MANITO - Julius Zeeck, 81, of 603 S. Washington St. died at 10:26 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, 1996, at Pekin Hospital in Pekin. Born Oct. 18, 1914, in Havana to John and Henrietta Uthmiller Zeeck, he married Pearl Graff on Aug. 21, 1938, in Manito. She survives. Also surviving are one son, Robert of North Aurora; one daughter, Mrs. Bruce (Karen) Gustafson of Dallas; one brother, Grover of Pekin; two sisters, Mrs. Carl (Verna) Woodley and Mrs. Warren (Frances) Kwasigroh, both of Manito; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandson. One brother preceded him in death. He owned and operated Manito Hardware Co. for more than 30 years. He served on the Mason County School Board. He also served as a former Manito Township road commissioner for several years. He was one of the founders of the Forman Fire Protection District and the Forman Ambulance Service. He was member of Manito-Forest City Optimist Club, where he served as president for one term. He also was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Manito. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at his church. The Rev. Carl Cross Jr. will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Maas Funeral Home. Burial will be in Meadow Lawn Cemetery.
